• Standard ISO Containers: For now, let’s focus on the standard 20’ x 8’ ISO Specification Shipping Containers.

Under-Floor Insulation

The void under the floor can be filled with polyurethane foam, which hardens similarly to Kingspan rigid insulation panels. This space is initially useful for routing pipes and cables, but once complete, access to these services becomes limited. Nevertheless, it’s valuable for both service routing and soundproofing.

For alternative acoustic insulation like Rockwool RWA 45, the floor can be underdrawn to keep all materials securely in place.

Internal Insulation

We recommend polyurethane spray for ceilings to prevent condensation and fill wall cavities for high insulation value, though it offers only modest soundproofing. Our preferred method for optimum performance. combines polyurethane for deep wall cavities and ceilings, 75mm Rockwool RWA 45 for ceilings and walls, and 50mm Kingspan sheets between ceiling joists.

For a pre-finished decorative look, we can install pre finished wall and ceiling boarding, or cover the framing with 15mm Knauf Acoustic Soundshield for superior sound isolation which can then be worked on for a number of different wall finishes.

Finishing and Plastering

After initial insulation, units can either be wet plastered or further treated for acoustics. This is where we start the acoustic treatment process.
